When it all goes wrong
Sometimes everything feels right, practise is good, recent scores are good and you think you are on to a winner, then it all goes wrong!!!!
That is what happened to me this weekend. A case of nothing I tried worked, I found clays and then lost them or didn’t find them at all.
I finished the day with a 66 and a 64 and a lot of head scratching.
So what can be done about this, firstly look for the positives and use it as a learning experience. Also look for the reasons why this happened.
Firstly the reasons…
I just didn’t get into it, probably a combination of the cold (2 °C) the wind and sleet I wasn’t feeling the love. Others shot well so I guess this means I should look at my clothing for this type of weather so I can concentrate and my shooting and not the weather.
I missed breakfast so that could have made concentrating more difficult, so need make a mental note not to repeat that mistake.
On to the positives, this type of experience builds character, I battled through and scrapped a score and then I was prepared to do it again on the next shoot. Never give up as even bad days can teach you a lot.
I learnt that I need to make sure I am prepared, breakfast, the correct clothing etc.
I now have a small break due to work commitments but will be back stronger in a couple of weeks.
