The 2018 British Open at Oakedge
This was the second British Open I had shot and the targets for this level of event were challenging as they should be. Steve Lovatt set the course and it had nearly every type of target to provide a challenge to everyone. There was also some innovation used for the targets, like shooting from the platform in the picture below.
On the day I had a shakey start but on the last 4 stands I hit 7/8 on each stand, which were definitly some of the more challenging stands. I managed to scrape together an 89/120 which was good enough to qualify for finals day.
Coming back for finals day was a great experience and the atmosphere was electric. I didn’t put a great score in on the day but I learnt alot and once I had finished shooting managed to follow round the final squad which included George Digweed, Richard Faulds and Scott Barnett.
